Wes has been actively involved with coaching volleyball at all levels with school teams, club programs, camps, Volleyball Alberta programs and with Team Canada women’s programs for over 35 years. Wes coached Medicine Hat High School girls’ teams for 20 years, has coached with the South East Alberta Volleyball Club since co-founding SEAVC in 1989, and coached the Medicine Hat College Rattlers for 8 years. He has also served as an Executive Board member with Volleyball Alberta (formerly Alberta Volleyball Association) for over 20 years, and was inducted into the Builder’s category of the Volleyball Alberta Hall of Fame in 2017.
Over the past 30+ years, Wes has had the incredibly good fortune to have met and learned from so many amazing coaches and volleyball people throughout Alberta, Canada, North America and even internationally, having served as a member of Alberta Volleyball delegations that travelled to play in Cuba and Japan, and having served as a guest coach with various Canadian National teams and Tsukuba University in Japan. Wes currently resides in Medicine Hat, Alberta where he started as a schoolteacher following his graduation from the University of Lethbridge in 1988, and has since been a school administrator.
