Martin has a long history as a volleyball coach. He can look back on a long coaching career with a lot of experiences in competitive volleyball from junior, senior and up to pro level as well as very special knowledge in Sitting Volleyball (Parasports) on the international stage. Martin was born in Aachen (Germany) and currently resides in Leverkusen where he works as a high school teacher at Landrat-Lucas-Gymnasium (Elite Sports School Germany and Boarding School for the professional sports club TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen). Countless visits to Canada for vacations and many appearances as a guest coach at several AVA summer volleyball camps are showing that he really loves the country.
- Active coaching and managing own daughter in U13/U14 Volleyball/Beach volleyball.
- Head Coach at the Federal Olympic Training Base „Sitting Volleyball“ in Leverkusen (IPC Germany, Olympiastuetzpunkt NRW/Rheinland): Training/education of Sitting Volleyball Nationalteam players. Successful qualification of Team Germany (men) for the Paralympics Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
- ParaVolley Europe Coaching Commissioner/World ParaVolley Tutor (2014-2017): Sitting Volleyball Workshops in Lisbon (POR) invited by IPC Portugal and Portuguese Volleyball Federation and in Tourcoing/Lille (FRA) invited by France Volleyball Federation to start a new Sitting Volleyball Nationalteam program for Paralympics Paris 2024.
- Presenter/Instructor representing Germany at the 1st Canadian Sitting Volleyball Summit in Ottawa 2011 hosted by IPC Canada and Volleyball Canada (CAN).
- Head Coach TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen Sitting Volleyball (2006-2010 and 2019-2024) winning 7 national titles at German Championships and a Silver Medal at ParaVolley Europe Champions Cup 2022 in Naples/Nola (ITA).
- Head Coach National Team Germany, Sitting Volleyball (men) Paravolleyball (2006-2010): Bronze Medal European Championship 2007 in Nyiregyhaza (HUN) and Bronze Medal European Championship 2009 in Elblag (POL).
- Assistant Coach at TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen (1. Bundesliga, woman Pro Team) (2000-2001).
- Coaching Instructor for West German Volleyball Association (WVV) (1996-2016).
- Guest Coach for the Juvenile Girls Provincial Teams of Alberta and Saskatchewan in Edmonton and Regina in preparation for the Canadian National Championship 2000 in Kingston, Ontario (CAN).
