Mackenzie Allen (Mac) began playing volleyball in Edmonton, where she attended Sturgeon Composite High School. She played on various club teams in Edmonton, including NAVC and the Griffins. She also competed with the Team Alberta program as captain for multiple years. After Mackenzie graduated high school, she moved to Calgary to continue her pursuit of post-secondary volleyball at Mount Royal University. During her time as captain at MRU, her team won Provincials and Nationals at the CCAA level and later competed at the CIS (USport) level. In addition to multiple MVP and All Star awards at the CCAA level, Mackenzie was also awarded an Academic All Canadian in her 5th year at MRU.
After post-secondary, Mackenzie was offered a professional contract with Fortuna Odense Volley in Denmark where she led the team as captain to a third place finish in the Danish league. After her year overseas, Mackenzie spent two years head coaching U14 club volleyball for the Junior Dino’s in Calgary in addition to running private sessions with athletes specializing in setting. Mackenzie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. She is now a Director at a financial technology company based in Calgary and still competes weekly in a women’s volleyball league.
