Josh is a lifelong volleyball fanatic. After growing up watching home Calgary Dinos home matches at the University of Calgary, he played seven years of club volleyball and five years in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association. During that time, he won a bronze medal in 2009 with the Medicine Hat Rattlers and helped lead the Augustana Vikings to playoff matches less than two years after the program entered the ACAC. In addition to several years of coaching club volleyball in Cochrane and Camrose, Josh has also been an assistant with the Lakeland Rustlers and has worked numerous camps and clinics since 2007, with plenty of mentorship from his dad Greg. After taking some time away from coaching and working as a journalist, Josh still stayed involved with college athletics, serving as an announcer for numerous events, including ACAC and CCAA men’s and women’s volleyball and basketball championships from 2014-2021. He currently lives in Lloydminster, where he coaches with Precision Volleyball and Rustlers Volleyball Club and works with the Lakeland College Rustlers Athletics program.

  • Currently the head of GameDay operations with Rustlers Athletics, along with his coaching roles.
  • Josh was an assistant coach for Zone 5 at the Alberta Winter Games in 2010.
  • As a player, he won multiple team related awards, including team MVP in 2013.
  • Assistant with the Lakeland Rustlers men’s program in 2018.
  • Over the past decade, Josh has worked with several athletes who went on to play on the provincial team, as well as more than a dozen who’ve competed at the collegiate level.
