Colton experienced consistent success as he progressed through his career as one of the top players in Alberta and Canada. After getting recruited to Mount Royal University as a setter, Colton transitioned to an outside hitter and after 1 year was named Mount Royal’s athlete of the year 3 years running from 2011-2014. As a result, he has a firm coaching philosophy in training every skill of the game, regardless of what position an athlete believes they are or should be. Upon completion of his years at MRU, he joined the Team Canada Full Time Center where he learned the importance of stepping out of his comfort zone to build proper technique through thousands of repetitions. Colton then went on to play two years of professional volleyball in both Sweden and Cyprus, where his schedule consisted of both training with his pro team, and coaching the junior club teams in his free time. Throughout Colton’s volleyball career and now his retirement, he has actively been involved in the coaching scene working with various clubs and running private lessons and clinics.
