Coach Sandra Lamb joined the MRC Cougars in 1993/94 and finished her playing career in 1997/98. After a short stint as assistant coach for the men’s and women’s volleyball team, she took over as women’s volleyball head coach halfway through the 1998/99 season. She has been a post-secondary Head Coach for 22 years.

Lamb is also highly decorated, being recognized as the CCAA and ACAC Coach of the Year in 2004. In 2011, she won the CCAA Coaching Excellence Award across all sports. Her teams have also reached high levels of success as they have taken home six CCAA medals – including a National Championship in 2011. In that span, she has also led the team to four ACAC provincial titles and nine ACAC medals. Once joining U Sport, Lamb’s teams remained successful. Making final four twice and in 2020 earning their first ever Canada West bronze medal and a trip to Nationals.

Sandra is also very active with club teams – winning national titles at the 15U, 16U and 18U levels. In 2013, she coached Alberta to their first ever Canada Games Gold Medal.
